ISO 22716 – Good Manufacturing Practices for Cosmetics

ISO 22716 is an international standard for the good manufacturing practices (GMP) for cosmetics. The standard focuses on the production, control, storage and shipment of cosmetic products. These guidelines offer organizational and practical advice on the management of the human, technical and administrative factors affecting product quality. ISO 22716 has been approved and accepted by national regulatory bodies such as the FDA, ICCR, and CEN.

 

What is ISO 22716 -Cosmetics - Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standard?

ISO 22716:2007 gives guidelines for the production, control, storage and shipment of cosmetic products.

These guidelines cover the quality aspects of the product, but as a whole do not cover safety aspects for the personnel engaged in the plant, nor do they cover aspects of protection of the environment.

The guidelines in ISO 22716:2007 are not applicable to research and development activities and distribution of finished products.
